Circle Activities
Once a month each Circle holds an evening meeting lasting usually 45-60 minutes followed by dinner.

Each Circle chooses its own programme of events for the year which will include a Clergy Night where local priests and nuns are invited to Dinner, a President’s Day usually early July where a Mass is celebrated followed by lunch and also a celebration for the previous year’s President.

In addition, Circles may organise such events as dinner dances, gala dinners, golf matches, quiz nights, theatre visits, children’s Christmas parties and outings.

Families are an important part of Catenian life and wives and children will be included in many of the social events.

Provincial Activities
In addition to the Circle activities, Province 2 organises a weekend, usually in October, where some 40-50 Brothers and their wives meet for a relaxing weekend. The Brothers have a Saturday morning meeting, a dinner with entertainment is held on the Saturday night and all join for Mass on the Sunday morning before leaving for home after lunch.

The George Saubolle Cup is a public speaking competition for all incoming Circle Presidents in the Province and is held every February/March when some 150 Brothers from all over Province attend.

Province also organises golf matches and inter-Province golf matches.

There is a Catenian Caravanning Fellowship and many Brothers in Province 2 are members. The Fellowship is open to any Brother with a caravan, motor home, trailer tent or tent and organises weekend events throughout the summer.

Charitable Activities
Each Circle President chooses one or two charities who receive financial donations resulting from raffles etc held during his term of office.

In addition, the Association through its Bursary Fund makes financial grants to support young people, under 25 and not necessarily Catholic, who are undertaking charitable works usually overseas.

The Association’s Benevolent Fund is for the support of Brothers who may have fallen on hard times.

These funds are administered by special committees of Grand Council.
